HEAT PRESS TRANSFER APPLICATION + AFTER CARE GUIDE

DTF TRANSFER APPLICATION — HEAT PRESS

APPLICATION SETTINGS

Fabric Temperature Press time Pressure
100% cotton 145°C 12 seconds Medium, even pressure
100% polyester 130°C 20 seconds Medium, even pressure

Settings are a starting guide. Always follow the instructions supplied with your specific transfer. Heat-sensitive or coated fabrics may require different settings.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Prepare your garment
Lay it flat on the press. Keep seams, buttons and zips outside the pressing area so the pressure reaches the whole design.

  2. Pre-press
Press for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and creases. For polyester, test a hidden area first for heat marks or discolouration.

  3. Position your transfer
Place the white adhesive side against the fabric, with the design facing upwards.

  4. Cover with baking paper
Cover the entire transfer with baking parchment—not waxed paper. Follow any different cover-sheet instructions supplied with your transfer.

  5. Press
Use the appropriate fabric settings above, unless your transfer instructions specify otherwise. Apply medium, even pressure across the entire design.

  6. Peel the carrier film
Remove the baking paper and follow your transfer’s hot, warm or cold-peel instructions. Slowly peel the film back against itself. If the design lifts, stop and check the temperature, pressure and peel instructions before pressing again.

  7. Finish
If your transfer requires a final press, cover the exposed design with baking parchment and repress for the finishing time supplied. Never let the heat press touch the exposed print directly.
